Audiobooks - How They Help You And Yours
Audiobooks - How They Help You And Yours
by Lew Brown
Audiobooks are becoming more and more popular day by day. After slow growth from the 1950s until late in the 20th century, sales took off and reached $871 million in 2005. Why is that? The many benefits of audiobooks are being "discovered." Consider the following:
1) You save time, because you can listen to an audiobook while doing other things - anywhere and everywhere. While you are working around the house or at the computer, commuting to and from work, walking the dog, cycling, jogging, exercising, and so on, you can listen to your favorite book. There are endless possibilities.
According to a recent survey, in the USA a person is driving an average of 1 hour and 13 minutes daily, which means over 440 hours a year for each driver, or 11 full-time work weeks. This is huge! Imagine how many books you could enjoy and how much you could learn during this time by simply having your MP3 player with audiobooks at hand.
2) If you love reading but are short on time, audiobooks can give you the opportunity to "read" many more books than you otherwise could. Audiobooks are a great way to fill the "dead" moments we all have in our lives.
3) Audiobooks are good for older, ill or recovering people and can be wonderful gifts for those in a nursing institution. They are gifts they will remember and enjoy time after time.
4) For blind people, disabled people or people with impaired vision, audiobooks are a godsend. All of us should have the chance to experience and enjoy a book. In many cases, this is the only way for these disabled persons to do it.
Spoken books can help these people by improving their education, by helping them to develop new hobbies and habits, and greatly enriching their life, both personally and professionally.
5) Arguably, the most important, rewarding and enjoyable skill a child can ever acquire is the ability to read. It's easy to stimulate literacy in children with audiobooks. Children can "listen" to books while following the story in the paper book. Their vocabulary will improve and their communication skills improve even if they just listen. If you want to instill in your child the love of reading, audiobooks can be an excellent start.
There are many other benefits of using audiobooks... and even more for downloadable audiobooks found online on many websites. But even the few reasons above should be enough to convince you to enter the exciting world of spoken books. CDs and cassettes are available at physical bookstores and online ones. Downloadable audiobooks are, of course, only available online. Many online book stores offer several free titles.

Internet Security - Virus Checkers and Firewall Software, Protection Tips!
Internet Security - Virus Checkers and Firewall Software, Protection Tips!
by Gary Levy
I been using the Internet for a long time now, so long I dont even remember when the first I ever used it. But back then there was a lot less hassle of having protection on our PCs and not only that! You also didnt have to worry about having your very own identity stolen!
Todays world is totally different, there are hundreds of thousands of people on the Internet that would love to steal your credit card, bank details, paypal account you name it they want it!
But its not just that they also want to take your identity to ruin your credit by taking out massive loans in your name and having it paid in to your account for them to just withdraw it from there PC
It does not stop there either, not only are we scared to wits of losing our cash but we also have people wanting to destroy our data on our computers out of pure fun and joy Its a sad world we live in.
Now Im not here to scare you, dont close that Internet connection just yet as I do also have some great tips and ideas on how to keep your self protected from such worries.
Firstly, every computer must own a Firewall, but I can hear the slow ticking in your head already banging away and asking Whats a Firewall?
Firewalls are designed to prevent other computers accessing your computer without your permission, to keep this very basic, a firewall is basically wall between you and the Internet. For others to get pass this wall they have to be given permission from the users on the other side.
Firewalls are great protection; I have used many, ZoneAlarm, Norton and also McAffee. But the best I have seen so far would have to be from Panda Software. They have a two in one package having Antivirus and Firewall all in one box. Though this may stop people from trying to attack your PC using software etc there are still many other routes that you can get attacked.
Viruses, Spyware, Trojans are just a few names that are currently taking advantage of thousands of PCs around the world; a firewall will not protect you from all of these!
Instead, you are going to need an Antivirus product which will take care of most of these threats.
Most Antivirus software will protect you from almost all threats on the Internet, you dont need Spyware protection for Spyware, Trojan protection for Trojans You get the picture?
One single Antivirus application will do all the work for you, dont sit there searching endless searches for different products to help you out Why?
In the end you will have loads of junk software on your PC all taking up system resources and wasting your computers CPU power. You will start to see your PC running slower and in the end you will just have to do a recovery of the entire system because it will be too naked to even start up Phew!
But you get the picture now; a single application is all you need, the big brand names do all this for you at the moment, it runs in your task bar and does almost everything except make you a nice cold tea! Just make sure you install the latest Antivirus software soon as your Operating System is installed We dont want anything bad slipping through do we!
To keep your self safe from all the nasty stuff on the Internet then the only best advice I can give you is to stay away from them bad nasty adult sites and also stay away from FREE software sites These type of sites are hard to pick from, some are bad Some are good.
Keep your software up to date and watch where you go and you should have no problems at all.

ITV Ventures as A Home Based Business
ITV Ventures as A Home Based Business
by Al Milligan
Over the years, industry professionals have looked for ways to telecommute. Whether the needs stems from a desire to spend more time with family, save on time and gas, or simply have increased flexibility in schedules, more and more people have looked for ways to work from home. Hundreds of companies have focused their attention on this growing group of individuals and have touted thousands of different ways for them to make money in a home based business. Some of these companies have targeted the self-employed, but most tout the benefits of creating extra wealth beyond the confines of a regular job. ITV Ventures provides individuals with the opportunity to work when and how they please, to determine their level of growth with their business, and provides a system of support to increase the individuals profit and potential.
More than a few companies require a large up front cost of either time or money in order for an individual to begin reaping the rewards promised by the program. This sacrifice not only depletes the resources of the individual, it also increases stress and resentment towards the company, causing a lack of passion for the business. This lack of passion and trust then manifests itself through sales, resulting in increased loss of resources.
ITV Ventures requires very little investment and automatically provides the home-based business owner with the resources necessary to start creating income immediately. The ITV team set up a system and network of partners and products to assist any individual in finding their desired level of work and income. ITV Ventures believes that individuals working for themselves should not have to work by themselves.
Although every home based business is different, the best and most successful of these ventures are ones in which an individual has the flexibility to work in their spare time and later have the option of working full time. Because ITV Ventures eliminates all the paperwork, inventory, and advertising usually associated with home based businesses, ITV has created a flexible work environment to fit into anyones schedule. ITV Ventures has patented a system where calls arriving from new and existing customers are rerouted to ITV partners, allowing individuals to receive orders. Each individual ITV partner, or independent business owner (IBO), chooses when he or she would like to work and can immediately take orders and enter information into the system. Since ITV holds all the inventory and processes paperwork, the ITV partners only need to take orders from customers and enter them into a home computer. ITV creates the advertisements and infomercials for the products while the IBOs continue to make money off of the orders from enthusiastic consumers.
ITV also allows each IBO to not only test the products, but also choose which product to sell. Individuals can only create enthusiasm and passion for products in which they believe and understand. ITV encourages their partners to try all the products and even provides samples of all the products to IBOs who join at the highest level. Individual business partners can then determine which products they want to sell and, based on their decisions, determine how many calls they want to take for each product at any given time. Home-based IBOs have complete control over their work schedule, product sales, and financial goals.

Serving Wine at Holiday Parties
Serving Wine at Holiday Parties
by Jennifer Marie Jordan
Hosting a party can bring about a great deal of stress. You may find this true for any kind of party, but it seems to be particularly true for a party thrown around the holidays. For some reason, the holidays are a time when parties aspire to be a little grander; they need to have tastier food, more elegant alcohol, and those who are hosting it need to wear red and call each other by names like, Dearest.
While a holiday party is something you will likely want to throw well hoping to impress your friends, your relatives, and your next door neighbor whose front lawn animatronics nativity scene makes your decorations look inferior you will also want to save some room on your credit cards for all your holiday shopping.
This may seem to pose a bit of a problem, as if you are forced to make the choice of throwing a great party or buying presents for your children, children who as they contact social services and attempt to get on Oprah probably wont be too forgiving if the holiday season finds you empty handed. However, throwing a great party doesnt have to drain your bank account; there are ways to have a party that is both festive and frugal. Because alcohol is generally one of the most pricy party expenses, buying wisely is the first step in throwing a party that will leave both your social circle, and your children, still talking to you.
Have a Variety
Some people are under the impression that hosting a party involves purchasing the most expensive wine they can find, wine that would impress even the most seasoned connoisseur. However, when it comes down to it, the price of wine is not nearly as important as the variety.
Holiday parties typically consist of a large spread of food. From the pt to the cheese balls, the months of November and December are like a giant buffet. Because of this, its important to cover your bases and purchase wine that is adaptable, wine that all types of food consider easy to get along with. The simplest way to do this is to cover all your bases by purchasing both red wine and white wine.
For red wine, Merlots, Shiraz, and Cabernets are all good choices, with white wines best bet being Chardonnay, though a nice Alsatian Riesling is also a great choice. While there are certain vintages that are expensive, its relatively easy to find bottles that arent extremely high priced; with some searching, or asking the clerk at the local liquor store for help, you can buy red and white wines that wont take away your ability to go holiday shopping, leaving you, ultimately, to holiday shoplift instead.
Serve White Zinfandel
When choosing a wine to serve at a party, White Zinfandel is an extremely popular choice. This is simply because people drink it up. A chilled beverage, White Zinfandel is light, sweet and low in alcohol content, which makes it a popular choice for folks who are driving. One of the least inexpensive, with many bottles costing around five dollars, White Zinfandel is a preferred choice of many party hosts everywhere.
A Box is Your Friend
There is an unfavorable stigma attached to box wine, like lawyers or people obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons. But, box wine is often a party staple. This is because its inexpensive, its convenient, the leftovers wont spoil, and even if you dont enjoy the taste of it, many others do.
Box wine was once the laughing stock of the wine world: people often equated it with cheap wine, it was only purchased by those who had a cash flow problem, and cases of Pinot Noirs were often found pointing and laughing, mocking the box wine from the comfort of their glass bottles. However, over the years this stigma has gone down the drain, and the box wine of today now stores a variety of wine, including wines that are premium.
Appease the Wine Folk
While White Zinfandel and box wine may quench the thirst of some, many wine connoisseurs prefer something a little different, believing that drinking anything other than a unique holiday wine is the equivalent of drinking from the water bowl in the Christmas tree stand. Because of this, its a good idea to have a couple of bottles of something a little interesting.
A fun holiday wine that is great to serve at a party is the Lady Bug Red Cuvee V. Not only is it visually appealing as it comes in a bottle with a green label and lady bugs all over it but the flavors are wonderfully fruity, containing a combination of blackberry, plum, cocoa, oak, and pepper. The wine, made up of Zinfandel, Carignane, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, is sure to satisfy a wide range of wine lovers.
Take People Up on Their Offers
It is etiquette for those attending a party to offer to bring something a casserole, a plate of cookies, a spinach dip. While you may have trouble accepting this gesture, thinking that you should be the one to generate all the party goods, keep in mind that many people who offer to bring something typically really want to.
People enjoy showing their gratitude and when they are able to contribute to a party, they feel as if they are given the opportunity to do just that. If a person asks you if they can bring anything, and you are stressing over the drink selection, simply request that they bring a bottle of wine. This not only assures that they will bring something they enjoy, but it also allows you to subtly shrug your shoulders and point your finger in their direction if others do not like it. That, after all, is what friends are for.
Holiday parties can be hard to plan. But, with the above tips, you should at least have the wine list taken care of, leaving you free to worry about food and dcor instead.
More than anything, when it comes this time of year, keep in mind that the wine you serve at your holiday party shouldnt be that important: the holidays are a time for camaraderie, family, and love, three entities that not even the most expensive vintage can ever rival.

An Old-Fashioned Christmas For Today
An Old-Fashioned Christmas For Today
by Adam Peters
You can enjoy the simplicity and beauty of an old-fashioned Christmas. It can make Christmas less stressful and more enjoyable.
Do you want to have a Christmas full of joy, instead of a Christmas full of stress? Most people feel exactly the same way that you do, but instead they go through the Christmas season feeling stressed and tired.
You can have a joyful Christmas season. There are many different ways to make your Christmas season more fun and less stressful. The best thing that you can do is to try to simplify your Christmas. If you think about your favorite Christmases from your childhood, you probably remember more times of simple fun, rather than chaotic stress. You only have to plan and prepare to make this a Christmas that you can enjoy now.
Enjoying the simplicity and beauty of an old-fashioned Christmas can decrease your stress level and be very easy. You don't have to go back to no electricity to make your Christmas more old-fashioned and simple. You only have to choose some parts of that time that will make your Christmas more enjoyable. You can help fill your home with Christmas spirit simply by using your three senses.
* Pleasing to the Eye - What do you think of when you think of when you consider an old-fashioned Christmas? If you are like most people, candy canes, popcorn strands, and homemade Ginger cookies on the Christmas tree come to mind. Making a popcorn strand is very simple and it can be a fun, quality family project that your kids will love and enjoy making. Using cookies as a decoration may not be very functional, but you could just use the cookie cutters on your tree or use them as a napkin ring.
* Pleasing to the Ear - "Sleigh bells ring. Are you listening?" Adding sleigh bells to your home can help create a pleasant Christmas sound to the ears. If you don't have a reindeer out in the yard then hang them on your doorknob. This is a great way to welcome your holiday guests.
Hearing the squeals of laughter occurs quite frequently during the Christmas season. From opening presents to decorating your home, the holidays are a source of great fun and laughter for every member of the family. You may want to consider using toys for decorating your home.
* Pleasing to the Nose - Some of the favorite scents of the holidays include spices, baked goods, evergreen, and bayberry. You can find Christmas decorations that fit both your eyes and nose. For example, fir branches with a red bow would look beautiful above a doorway. Scented candles will look great in your windows. Cooking cookies also helps to add a delicious smell to your entire home.
Having an old-fashioned Christmas does not mean that you have to sacrifice your worldly goods. It simply means that you want to have a more simple, enjoyable Christmas, without many of the stresses. Isn't that what you desire?

Lean when Based on Toyota Production System Fails for High-Mix Manufacturers
Lean when Based on Toyota Production System Fails for High-Mix Manufacturers
by Michael Mahoney
The 2007-05-02 issue of USA Today features an article titled Toyotas success pleases proponents of lean. The popularity of lean manufacturing today has come almost entirely from Toyotas success. http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2007-05-02-toyota-lean-usat_N.htm
However, the article goes on to state that a survey by management consulting firm Bain shows that only 19% of companies that have tried lean are happy with it. While there are a number of barriers to success in using lean, one clear problem is that the challenges faced by high-mix manufacturing are not adequately addressed by low-mix techniques of Toyota-based lean approaches.
The buzzword lean often encapsulates cellular, group technology, balancing capacity, load leveling, kanban and tact time concepts. These concepts will not and cannot deliver value to high-mix manufacturers excepting setup-time reduction, kanban and 5S (i.e., orderliness and cleanliness). For high-mix manufacturers, it is likely that few of these companies that have tried Toyota Production Systembased Lean (Lean-TPS) are happy with it. When the concepts are implemented, they are often weak approximations of Lean-TPS or true implementation is impossible to achieve at all. Most of the problem emanates from highly volatile incoming order dynamics unique to high-mix manufacturing.
The fundamental operational dynamics for high-mix manufacturing requires a different approach that TPS-Lean is ill equipped to address. In the original translation of the book, Toyota Production System from Industrial Engineering Viewpoint, it states that the TPS Kanban system, could only be adapted only in the case of repetitive production and impossible to utilize for individual production.
For high-mix manufacturing, a systems-based approach is essential. 21st century state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques are based on the science called holonics. Holonics is a systems-based approach which provides stability in the face of disturbances, delivers adaptability and flexibility in the face of change while maintaining efficiency, and facilitates agility.
Each of the key areas of manufacturing is approached within the overall holonics systems architecture approach. A complete understanding of MRP and its proper setup and use is fundamental to attaining a lean inventory position. Capacity planning and synchronized scheduling methodology enables efficiency and high throughput. Tactical alignment with strategic goals is a must for achieving superior levels of responsiveness and delivery performance.
The high-mix, low volume environment benefits from a holonics architecture rather than a TPS-Lean model. Proper modeling of the overall organizational architecture coupled with an operational model and communications strategy and tactics is the recipe for attaining competitive advantage. Holonics delivers that competitive advantage today for high-mix manufacturers.

Do I Need a Commercial Broker To Invest in Commercial Property?
Do I Need a Commercial Broker To Invest in Commercial Property?
by Tony Seruga, Yolanda Seruga and Yolanda Bishop
When investing in real estate an important decision to make will be whether or not you want to have a broker help make your real estate deals. Often, the answer to that question will have to do with where you are in your investing career. For those that are just beginning a broker can be a very useful tool in finding opportunities, what an investor should look for and what they dont want to see in a property, and negotiating a deal that will make everyone happy. Those that are a bit seasoned in this area may not need so much help, but still can benefit in one way or another.
When preparing to purchase a commercial property for investment you may want the assistance of a broker. Having as much experience as they do in this field, a broker will be able to give good, solid reasons why a property may or may not be a good investment. If an investor is considering purchasing a building in order to section it off and lease out stores to those in retail, a broker may be able to let them know that this is not a good idea because there will shortly be a large shopping center being developed within a mile of this building. This would make it more difficult to lease out the spaces and it may not be a worthwhile investment unless the investor can come up with a different use for it. Without the knowledge of the broker, the investor may have ended up losing money due to a bad investment once the shopping mall came along.
A broker may also be able to hunt up other properties for investment. If, as an investor, you find that a property that youve been considering is not a good investment, a broker may be able to tell you about a few other properties that could be good for use in the way that youre planning. A broker will also have information about properties before they even get listed. Sometimes this can work in your favor. If the realtor knows of the property and tells you about it, you see it and are interested, you may be able to negotiate with the owner of the property before it ever gets listed. This may give you the heads up on properties that others may have outbid you on. You will not have to worry about competing with other investors because they will not have known of the property. A broker may do this for you if they will still get a commission on the deal or they may forgo a commission or two in order to claim you as a client and keep you coming back. If they make you money, youll be more willing to make them money. This can be a win win situation on both sides of the fence.
If youve been working with brokers for a while and have a reasonably good idea of what youre doing as an investor, you may not want to work with a broker at all. Even if a broker has given you a property or two, they will not continue to do that for long. All other properties will have part of the profits divided with the broker. If you feel that youve gained enough experience to deal without a broker, you can potentially save yourself thousands that would otherwise be a commission to the broker.
Being able to work without a broker will mean that youll have to have some communication with those that are selling properties. If youve done a lot of networking in the time that youve been investing, chances are that you have done some networking and meeting of people that do what you do. You may know owners of several commercial buildings of your area. They may know that you are a good business to deal with when they decide to sell their property. In this case, there is little else that a broker will do for you besides deal with the legal end of the sale.
If youve paid close attention in the closings and have looked closely at the paperwork thats changed hands during the meeting at the close of the sale, you should be able to handle this part yourself. The documents that brokers use to close a commercial property sale can be purchased at most business office supply stores and several bookstores. Additionally, you can draw up these documents yourself with the help of your computer and printer. If you purchase the documents once and make several copies of the blank documents, youll have a good start. After youve done a few closings yourself you may add some documents that pertain to your business dealings or you may always use the documents purchased. Either way, you will be able to handle the closing of property transactions which will again save you thousands over using a broker.
A broker can have their uses. When you are starting out in the field of commercial investing, they can be a wealth of information and very helpful in your transactions. In the beginning, they may be well worth the investment that you have to put into them. Over time, they may not be as necessary as previous. If you make a point to network with others in the same or related fields, you will find yourself getting information thrown at you left and right when a commercial property comes up for sale. That will eliminate the need for the broker in that sense. If you pay close attention to the closings and gather the necessary paperwork to learn how a property closing works, you will eliminate entirely the need for the broker and this will save your company thousands at each closing. It makes good business sense to use a broker in the beginning, but learning about their job will ultimately raise your profit margins as you eliminate their need and then the use of them at all.

How to choose the perfect wedding vendors for the wedding of your dreams
How to choose the perfect wedding vendors for the wedding of your dreams
by Jo Anna Zaffree
Choosing the right vendor is second to choosing the right spouse. Vendors are the reason events come off properly or not.
In America, the average wedding costs $27,852. For most couples, this is the largest event you will ever host. It is the most money you will ever spend, for ONE day, on products and services you have never used, with people you have never met.
Your wedding vendors. The people you choose to handle the finest of details for the largest, most meaningful event of your lives. Your wedding day.
The first thing to remember is that the vendor is not your adversary. Wedding vendors are professionals in their fields. The vendor is a businessperson, in business to make a profit. Hire vendors who have experience in the field. New vendors may be more affordable but they will offer less value.
When interviewing vendors, you must be very clear about your vision for your wedding. Offer pictures, fabric swatches, etc. to communicate your vision.
Look at photos of past events. Are they tasteful, original, with various themes? You want to choose a vendor who can create your vision, not a cookie cutter version of their past events.
You must be very up front about your budget. How much can you, are you, willing to spend on his or her service? Most vendors have handled events of varying budgets.
Hiring on price alone can be a disaster. Dare your vendor to be creative in ways to create your vision on your budget. Ask what else they can offer to add value to their service. For example, a florist may add free greenery, fruit or ribbon, to enhance your simple bouquet.
Do not hire the first vendor you talk to. Interview at least three in a given category. Do not be afraid to walk away if a vendor cannot, or, is unwilling to work within your budget. Let your vendor work to get your business by offering more value to their service.
Get referrals. Get referrals from recently married couples. When attending other weddings, take mental notes of what you like and do not like. Ask for and call at least three references. Choose vendors that you can work without throughout the planning process. With some vendors, such as photographers, you will spend the majority of your wedding day together. Choose someone you like personally, and who you feel has your best interests in mind.
Make your vendor a partner in your big day. A happy vendor = a happy couple.
Cheers!

The Six Billion Dollar Man
The Six Billion Dollar Man
by Kevin Tatem
Of late, the value of the US Dollar has been falling, which has had an inevitable impact upon the price of US stocks. But why exactly has the US dollar been falling, will it continue to do so and should this be something to worry about? Fat Prophets investigate.
For some of us who grew up in the 1970s, the television program "The Six Million Dollar Man" will be a nostalgic experience. Many will remember the show's famous tagline "... A man barely alive... Gentlemen, we can rebuild him ... we have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before, Stronger, Faster..."
Of course the bionics and all that rebuilding came at a price. Back in the 1970s it took $6 million dollars to rebuild Steve Austin. Today $6 million dollars wouldn't buy a bionic finger, let alone bionic legs or a bionic eye! In fact, if Steve Austin was re-launched in a new show today, we believe the producers would have to up the ante and call it The Six Billion Dollar Man!
In the report last week, we addressed some of the major inflationary issues facing the US economy and why we believe the dollar will come under severe pressure over the next few years. So now we ask: why has the US Government let the value of the currency fall so much?
To answer this question we need to look back at history. Since 1944, following the famous meeting of the global central bankers at Bretton Woods in New Hampshire, it was decided that the US dollar would assume the privilege of becoming the world's reserve currency.
This status was important because effectively, it meant that nearly all countries in the world would trade with one another using dollars as the medium of exchange. In addition, the central bankers agreed that a gold standard would be adopted by the US Government. This would literally anchor the value of the US dollar to a tangible asset.
Through the gold standard, any country holding US currency could exchange dollars at "The Gold Window" for physical gold at the rate of $35 per ounce. Following Bretton Woods, this system worked well for many years, with the US Government generally exhibiting responsible currency management. Spending was within budget and borrowing was limited. Money supply grew in size, but only at the same rate as the underlying GDP growth rate.
However, with the escalation of the Vietnam War in the 1960s, spending on the military soared and the Government went deeply into debt. To finance the war, money had to be borrowed, and thus the supply of US money in global circulation increased significantly. Countries holding large reserves of US dollars began converting them into physical gold.
This led to a large outflow of gold reserves from the US to countries such as France, which was cashing in its excess dollars at the Gold Window at a frantic rate. The system began to buckle, as the physical gold transfers accelerated.
Alarmed at the rapid dissipation of US gold reserves and frustrated by not being able to effectively fund the Vietnam War, Nixon took the dollar off the gold standard in 1971. This freed the dollar from a tangible anchor and allowed massive borrowing and debt expansion. Money supply within the system skyrocketed.
Inflation rose sharply during the 1970s, driven by spiraling wages and commodity prices. Oil peaked at $40 a barrel in 1980. Gold hit $850 an ounce. On the front pages of newspapers there was talk of the US dollar potentially collapsing.
Then along came Paul Volcker to manage the Federal Reserve. A man ahead of his time, he raised interest rates to nearly 20 percent to wring out and halt the rampant inflation within the system. Defying many skeptics at the time, he succeeded and price inflation subsided. For the next 20 years, prices were relatively stable.
The same cannot be said for the US money supply. The number of US dollars within the global system has continued to expand rapidly. The world today is flush with US dollars, and we believe this partially explains the sharp rise in asset and commodity prices.
Holders of US dollars are converting them for tangible assets. Nations such as China, Japan, India, as well as OPEC members are accumulating US dollars by the trillion. It remains to be seen just how long this will continue as the dollar is continually damaged by the growing money supply, trade and budget deficits and national debt which is climbing towards $9 trillion.
With the decline of the US dollar in recent years, purchasing power abroad has also fallen dramatically. Within the United States, inflation has remained relatively subdued (although the Federal Reserve is becoming more uncomfortable). However the true picture has been clouded by the fall in the dollar.
What does this all have to do with the stock market? In our opinion, the declining purchasing power of the dollar partially explains why the Dow Jones and S&P500 are rising. US stocks are relatively cheaper today for foreign investors. Stocks are also tangible, and in an inflationary environment, are perhaps a better place to invest capital, rather than in treasury bonds or cash.
We firmly believe there are too many US dollars in existence today within the financial system. The world is beginning to awaken to the fact that the intrinsic value of the dollar (if indeed it has any) has been greatly eroded in the past three decades. While we believe further falls in the dollar are highly probable, the Dow Jones Index could rise to between 14,000 and 15,000 in the next few years as the currency continues to depreciate.
In summary, as highlighted last week, our strategy continues to be biased towards large cap, internationally diversified stocks (e.g. Microsoft - note George Soros buying heavily this week), or stocks that produce products where prices are established internationally (BHP Billiton). We also favor the precious metal sector and in particular, gold stocks. While US equities may experience volatility in the near term, the inflationary cycle should drive the market to new highs towards the end of the year.
If The Six Million Dollar Man does make a return to television now, who knows; in a few years he might just be the Six Trillion Dollar Man.

Questions You Should Ask A Realtor Before Signing Anything
Questions You Should Ask A Realtor Before Signing Anything
by Chuck Lunsford
Questions you should ask a Realtor before signing anything. A Realtor is hired to help you complete a real estate transaction with your best interest in mind. However, there are a few questions that you can ask a Realtor to ensure that you will receive the best service possible. Also, these questions will help you to make sure that the Realtor will be able to meet your expectations.
1. When you are hiring a Realtor for your real estate transactions, you are hiring them for their professional experience. Therefore an important question is; how much experience do they have in real estate. How much experience do they have working with real estate in the area you want to conduct your real estate transaction?
Even though Realtors follow a higher level of ethics, there are still new Realtors. There are also Realtors that are new to the area and may not have the necessary connections that it would take for you to get the service you need.
2. Are you able to check their references? Can you talk to one or two of their previous customers? Do they have any letters of recommendation that you can read? Most good Realtors will offer this information before you ask, but if not, it should not be a problem for them to provide these to you. You are hiring someone just like any other job.
3. What education does the Realtor have? What ongoing education have they completed? Do they have any other certifications do they have?
4. What time frame do they work? Selling or buying a home takes a great deal of time. If a Realtor is only working part time, that is only part time that they will be able to dedicate to you. Therefore, if they work 5pm to 6pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday, that is all the time they would have to work for you. This may not be the best hours for a home to be bought or sold. You will need a Realtor that can be there to help you. A good Realtor works seven days a week and would be on-call. When a home can be shown or sold they will be there.
5. Are they a member of their local Board of Realtors? It is a good idea to make sure that they have taken the time to work with the local Realtors and understand the area they are working in.
6. What tools will they have available to help you complete your real estate transaction. Do they go through the MLS listing service? What other forms of advertising options will they use? Do they have open houses? What contacts do they have?
7. Will it be the Realtor themselves that will be completing your transaction, or will it be the Realtors assistant. Can you request that the Realtor be the one that is working with you.
8. Where will the Realtor be getting their leads? Will they be going from their own lists, or will it be from many sources.
9. What can you do to make sure that your home is ready for the market. Are there repairs, etc to make sure that your home will sale for the price you are looking for? If you are looking to buy a home, is there a faster way that you can view homes that are available.
10. What are the Realtors fees? Are they negotiable? What amount of the commission is going to be put into advertising? Will you be paying any additional fees, other than the down payment and closing costs?
After you have asked the Realtors you are looking to hire, you will have a good idea of what you can expect. If you are ready to sign a contract at this point, try to make it a short contract. Also, see if there are options for non-exclusivity. If however you find the perfect Realtor for your needs, sign away. They are likely to make sure that your real estate needs are taken care of.

Spyware: the expensive free extra
Spyware: the expensive free extra
by Carl Formby
Everyone has heard the saying Theres no such thing as a free lunch. Its a saying which means that you pay for everything eventually, in one way or another. Even stuff which is free often has a hidden cost, and this couldnt be more true of a growing problem affecting thousands of computers worldwidespyware.
The reason that Spywareand its closely-related cousin, Adwarecan be described as a free lunch that is anything but free, is that it is often installed on a computer without the users consent by piggy-backing on some free software that the user downloaded from the internet, but then can end up costing a computer owner dearly.
A computer infected with Spyware can monitor the use of the computer and collect personal information without the users consent. Some of this personal information may be innocuous, but some may be extremely important and financially-sensitive, including passwords to membership sites, bank account details, credit card numbers and bank passwords. Not the type of thing anyone wants to fall into the hands of unscrupulous people. Some Spyware simply collects information to be used by marketing teams, though this does bring up issues of privacy, even if the information is not used for criminal purposes.
Adware could be said to be less malicious than Spyware, though it does operate in much the same way. Like Spyware, Adware is often downloaded along with a piece of free software and operates without the knowledge or consent of the user.
It is true that a lot of Spyware is simply used for marketing purposes and is not of the malicious type although it is still unwanted and unauthorized. When you suddenly see advertisements appearing that are completely unrelated to the web site they appear on, thats a pretty good indication that somehow Adware has been installed. Another side-effect of both Spyware and Adware can be an extremely slow computer as the programs hog systems resources.
Both Spyware and Adware embed themselves into the operating system of the computer, which can make it extremely difficult to remove them. This is especially true of the forms of Adware and Spyware which conceal themselves on the computerif the user doesnt know they are there he isnt going to try to remove them. Some types of Spyware can even bypass anti-virus software and then disable parts of it, which means the PC then becomes open to more infections from other Spyware of Adware programs.
So what is the best way to avoid a Spyware or Adware infection? Keeping your web browser up to date and ensuring your anti-virus software is the latest version is one way. But one of the simplest ways is to avoid downloading free programs from the internet. Those free programs may give you something cool to play withbut they may also give you something not so cool along with it. The next time youre tempted to download some free program that sounds good, remember the saying that there really is no such thing as a free lunchespecially when it comes to computer security.

Notebook And WiFi Standards
Notebook And WiFi Standards
by Roberto Sedycias
Every modern notebook is Wi-Fi enabled, allowing internet access from any part of the globe. But while using your wireless notebook, you should be aware of Wi-Fi standards, hotspots, and how to effectively use this technology to make the optimum use of your notebook.
The 802.11g Wi-Fi standard is the latest standard, which your notebook follows when you are online. The Wi-Fi alphabet spaghetti consists of protocols like 802.11, 802.15, 802.16, and 802.20. However, for most notebook users 802.11 would be sufficient with added `a`, `b`, or `g`.
There are protocols like `e`, `h`, `i`, and `n` that are waiting in the wings to make their entry. Nevertheless, as of now, 802.11g is the only protocol that one needs to think when it comes to wireless connectivity. The latest Wi-Fi standard is the 802.11g and offers connection speeds up to 54 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz radio bands, which is five times more than the previous standard 802.11b. It is more stable, more secure, and backward compatible.
Almost all notebooks that are manufactured today are 802.11g Wi-Fi standard ready. This standard is also designed to replace the older Wired Equivalent Privacy or WEP by specifying the Wi-Fi Protected Access or WPA. The WPA will function as an interim solution, until the next standard, the 802.11i network security standard is implemented with a new algorithm called Temporal Key Integrity Protocol, which shall be much more secure and reliable.
However, until the new standard is implemented, the 802.11g is to be followed. There are only two disadvantages with this notebook Wi-Fi standard, that firstly, since it is a new standard, it may not perform as promised; and secondly, with fast emerging latest technologies, it may become obsolete by newer standards before you have the time to benefit from it.
Few tips for a secure Wi-Fi experience:
1 - You should raise the level of your laptop settings. Raise the security settings of software applications like Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer. Update them frequently to ensure latest protection from hackers and viruses. You should keep the encryption feature always on to ensure safest browsing with Wi-Fi.
2 - Along with the software, you should also consider updating to better hardware. Hackers have always found 802.11a and 802.11b very easy to hack. However, 802.11g is harder to crack and you should consider upgrading your hardware to a `g` card. An 802.11g is backward compatible with IEEE 802.11b, thus 802.11g can leverage the widespread, international adoption of IEEE 802.11b in products from laptops to PDAs. A personal firewall, such as ZoneAlarm or BlackICE can significantly add up to the security level of your notebook.
3 - Whenever you are using your notebook at a Wi-Fi hotspot, make it a point not to send data. While you are surfing, do not type your credit-card number, expiration date, passwords, bank account numbers, etc. Sensitive data are the goldmines for hackers, and they will swipe your bank account before you can finish saying, ` I have been a victim of online identity theft!`
4 - Consider not staying online while working. If the risks outweigh the benefits, then it would be better to stay offline; at least until the new 802.11i standard is not implemented. Even then, the security can be breached, albeit with difficulty. If you do not need Wi-Fi to implement your work, then stay switched off. If you need the Wi-Fi just to send and receive files, then stay connected for only that period. Rest of the time, stay offline.
Precautions to take at a public Wi-Fi hotspot:
Whenever you are in public domain, you need to take precautions, as it is free for all. The Wi-Fi hotspots are available to any and every person, and anybody can be connected. Besides online thefts, there is also the risk of offline thefts.
While in a public hotspot, do not be so absorbed with your notebook, that you fail to notice the people around you. There are persons who are in the business of stealing notebooks, from public hotspots. And they do not operate as individuals but as a gang.
Also, while you are online at a public hotspot, follow simple rules like encrypting files before transferring or emailing them; making sure you are connected to a legitimate access point; and file sharing is turned off. Basic precautions like password protecting your notebook, updating your system regularly, and using anti-virus software should be strictly followed. For further online security, consider using a personal firewall, a virtual private network (VPN), and web-based email with secure http (https).
Having a good Wi-Fi experience directly translates into a satisfying Internet experience. With the above suggestions being implemented, you are guaranteed to have a pleasant online time with your notebook.

I Love French Wine and Food - A Red Cotes du Rhone
I Love French Wine and Food - A Red Cotes du Rhone
by Levi Reiss
If you are looking for fine French wine and food, consider the Rhone Valley region of southeastern France. You may find a bargain, and I hope that you'll have fun on this fact-filled wine education tour in which we review a local red Cotes du Rhone.
Among France's eleven wine-growing regions the Rhone Valley ranks number two in vineyard acreage. The region extends 125 miles (200 kilometers) along the Rhone River. This region is actually composed of two parts, the north and the south whose wines tend to be quite different. The northern Rhone Valley is quite narrow. The predominant red grape is Syrah, and the most important white grape is Viognier. The southern Rhone Valley produces about 95% of the Rhone Valley wines. This region strongly believes in blending grapes in their wines. For example the famous Châteauneuf-Du-Pape AOC wine may be made from up to thirteen different grape varieties. The better wines are clearly defined as coming from the northern or the southern part of the Rhone valley. We will be reviewing some of these wines in later articles.
Historians believe that Avignon was originally settled by the Celts. It was a flourishing city in the time of the Ancient Romans. But it is best known as the home of seven popes between 1309 and 1377. Who would have thought that when Pope Clement V chose this southern French city for the site of his Papacy, it was ruled by the King of Sicily, albeit through the house of Anjou, in the opposite corner of France? Avignon and the surrounding area remained more or less papal property until the French Revolution. The major tourist site is the Palais des Papes (Papal Palace), which unfortunately is missing many of its original furnishings. But there is a lot more to see including several churches and museums, the beautiful hilltop garden Rocher des Doms (Rock of the Domes), the opera house, the Clocktower Square, and of course the Pont-St.-Benezet (St.-Benezet Bridge) made famous by a children's song Sur le pont d'Avignon (On the Avignon bridge). Parts of this bridge are said to date back to the Twelfth Century. And you're only a little more than ten miles (less than twenty kilometers) from the village of Châteauneuf-Du-Pape.
Before reviewing the Cotes du Rhone wine and imported cheeses that we were lucky enough to purchase at a local wine store and a local Italian food store, here are a few suggestions of what to eat with indigenous wines when touring this beautiful region. Start with Fois Gras de Canard (Duck Liver Pate). For your second course savor Caillette (Pork-Liver Meat Loaf). And as dessert indulge yourself with Sorbet (Sherbert) and fresh fruit.
OUR WINE REVIEW POLICY All wines that we taste and review are purchased at the full retail price.
Wine Reviewed Reserve Perrin Cotes du Rhone P2004 13% about $12
Let's start by quoting the marketing materials. Roaming Rhone. This wine will transport you to the South of France. Five generations of Perrin winemaking culminate here as you breathe in aromas of candied cherries, plum, spice, and earthy tones. There's volumes of juicy cherry flavors surrounded by good ripe tannins on the medium-bodied palate. Gourmets can savor it with chicken or lamb tajine.
Most of the wines that we have reviewed are made from a single grape variety. This wine, like most of the wines in the southern Rhone Valley, is a blend, in this case 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, and 10% Cinsault.
My first meal consisted of rib steak and fried potatoes. The steak was marinated in a homemade ketchup and horseradish mustard sauce. By accident too much mustard fell into the sauce, but I didn't want to throw it out and start over again. No problem, this wine rose to the challenge easily and wasn't in the least overwhelmed by all that horseradish. I still tasted dark fruits and spices.
My next meal involved slow cooked ribs and potatoes. I found the wine full and very round. While it wasn't complex it was quite pleasant. In addition to the above components I tasted a bit of tar. When the food was gone the wine tasted peppery. I liked it.
Once again I went to beef, this time a slow cooked beef stew. The wine was a bit chewy. It was powerful and mouth-filling.
The first cheese was a French Saint-Aubin, a soft cow's milk cheese traditionally packed in a wooden box. This cheese has a creamy brie-like texture and a stronger taste. Unlike many other wines, this Cotes du Rhone retained its fruit when paired with the Saint-Aubin.
I next tried the wine with an Italian Bel Paese, a mild buttery cheese suggested to accompany fruity wines or to be eaten alone as a snack or a dessert. This combination was even better; the wine became rounder. Only a few precious sips remained in the bottle. Instead of slicing off a bit more cheese, I tried it with a slice of mint chocolate cake. Unfortunately the combination was no success, the cake denatured the wine a bit. But, as you may know, I do not blame a wine for my unusual unorthodox food pairing attempts that come up short.
Final verdict. I found this wine to be a real winner, especially in light of its moderate price. I'll be buying it again, but not before tasting several other wines from both the north and the south of the Rhone Valley.

Understanding Discount Long Distance
Understanding Discount Long Distance
by Myriam De Clercq
If you make a lot of long distance calls it is wise to look out for a carrier that offers a calling plan featuring discounts for the type of call you make most frequently...
Cheap long distance carriers generally feature high quality, discount calling plans with great rates and features. A prepaid service for discount long distance usually has no expiration period and no maintenance fees required. However, some plans will also require you to pay your bills online to have that monthly fee waived. Some dial plans help save money by automatically routing outbound calls to discount long-distance services. Though many people get the basic telephone package without a long distance plan, it is still smart to see if your provider offers a discounted long distance package. You can either pay the regular cents per minute for making long distance calls, or you can see if your telephone provider has a monthly discounted plan.
Though most of the telephone providers offer a great deal of benefits, there are some who are dishonest; it is not easy to determine who is being honest and who is being dishonest. Cheap long distance is not a secret; just ask your friends and family members about what they are using and what kind of savings are out there. Though almost all telephone companies offer long distance plans, it is a good idea to ask them if the price varies per distance or is it a fixed rate for all calls. While you make frequent long distance calls, you should be for certain to check with your provider to see if they offer any discounts. All long distance discounts begin with comparing the competing telephone services in your market for the best discount.
Choosing a long distance carrier and calling plan may be a boring task for even some of the most savvy of business minded individuals. Cheap long distance service for your phone has always been a top priority for families that are separated by long distances. Use your computer as a phone; this is possible for most PCs, however if you are not for sure if your PC has these capabilities you should call your PC provider. Use your computer and the internet in place of your phone to talk long distance to your friends for family; by doing so you will be able to avoid most of the charges attached when using your fixed line.
All long distance companies offer some sort of discount calling plans; you just want to pick the best one for your needs. In fact, you may be paying too much for a long distance phone plan because you purchased a plan that has features you don't use. Another example: if you do a lot of interstate calling and you find a plan that has low cost long distance for state-to-state calls, use it. A prepaid phone service can provide very cheap rates on long distance as well as international calling. Using certain calling card services, calls can also be originated from a large number of countries around the world. Whereas traditional long distance providers add extra charges for long distance services, providers today include the service in one or more of their packages. While you are traveling you should check with your mobile provider to see if they have any discounts on long distance plans; this is usually referred to as a nation wide plan. You might either choose to select the long distance plan your telephone company offer, however if you decline you will not have the option to call out of state on your home phone.

Inventory Management Made Easy
Inventory Management Made Easy
by Reggie Andersen
Devising an inventory management program that will generate maximum sales and profitability requires an advanced computerized program that is difficult and costly for a retailer to implement, but should be offered as part of the supplier program.
Failure to customize video sell-through programs to the needs of individual stores most often will result in erratic sales performance and lower than expected profitability. Because the dynamics involved in achieving sell-through success are different in each store, the program must be tailored to the individual situation. A cookie-cutter approach that treats all stores within a chain as essentially the same is a sure recipe for disappointment.
The supplier must devise an inventory management program -- including the size of the section, the category of titles to be stressed, the price points to be offered, and the signage and promotions to be featured -- to the particular demographics of the store. As retailers often do not have the time or extra resources to manage the complicated section on a store by store basis, especially with the enormous number of titles involved in video sell-through, finding a supplier who provides that service is vital to cashing in on the category's full potential.
Although many suppliers are now jumping into the sell-through video marketing arena, choosing a company that has extensive video experience in the supermarket environment is important. Properly managing a sell-through section is not easy. Suppliers must not only have a large number of video titles available but also be able to analyze the section's potential for succeeding. To do that, the supplier should already be familiar with the supermarket industry and have a demonstrated ability to provide solid retail support at store level. A successful program requires constant, efficient in-store service by a fully trained, experienced service staff. The supplier must be able to execute at store level.
One solution to ensuring that the supplier selected can fulfill the program's promise may be for retailers to choose a company they already have a buying relationship with or that at least has considerable experience servicing supermarket departments.
Ensuring that the video sell-through program is managed primarily by the supplier -- rather than requiring extensive in-store labor -- can be crucial to maximizing in-store profitability. The difference between staffing the department and selling product and having to run the entire operation -- from selecting titles initially to charting sales to restocking the fixtures -- is significant and can tie up a tremendous amount of valuable time.
The best programs minimize the amount of in-store labor necessary to run the section by providing a complete inventory management service. The other option -- to manage the section in-store with minimal outside help -- is often frustrating and can eventually lead to failure.

Is There Really Such A Thing As A FREE Security System?
Is There Really Such A Thing As A FREE Security System?
by Frank Cheshire
"Is There Really Such A Thing As A FREE Security System?"
There is an old saying that goes like this:
There is no such thing as a FREE LUNCH.
The same goes for home security systems. For you see there are only two ways to invest in a system to protect your home:
1) Buy everything upfront
2) Pay little or nothing down and pay a small fee each month for 36 months until the equipment is paid off.
First lets look at the ups and downs of each.
The Benefits Of Paying For Equipment Upfront
1) No long term contract to sign
2) Monthly monitoring from $15.38 a month
3) Choose any Monitoring facility you like
The Disadvantages Of Paying Upfront
1) Not everyone can afford to lay out $795-$2,000 for a home security system at one time
2) Monitoring is usually Local Monitoring only (See our article Local VS National Monitoring...Which is better?
The Benefits Of a FREE Home Security System
1) Little or no money out of pocket to cover the equipment & installation labor
2) Save your money for other new home purchase needed
3) One low price includes paying for your equipment & monthly monitoring fee
4) Gives you NATIONAL monitoring protection (See our article Local VS National Monitoring...Which is better?)
5) Surprisingly can saves up to $300 over buying equipment upfront (See the Consumers Guide To Choosing Atlanta Georgia Home Security Systems)
6) Lifetime maintenance agreement as long as you monitor with the provider.
The Disadvantages Of A FREE SYSTEM
1) Requires 36 month commitment
2) Slightly higher monthly monitoring fee of around $ 29.95 which covers equipment, installation & labor & monthly monitoring
3) Equipment is often propriety, which means only their monitoring facility can monitor your system.
Well, there it is.
As you can see they both have their own advantages & disadvantages.
It boils down to this...Pay now...or pay a little more each month.
I guess it comes down to what is most important to you.

Understanding Digital Cameras
Understanding Digital Cameras
by Roberto Sedycias
Capturing beautiful moments and making them accessible quickly is no longer a rich man's forte. Most of us have access to our memorable moments in just a click away. Digital cameras save you a lot of time. Once the photo has been taken, you can just download those images in a computer and make them accessible on the net in various ways. Digital cameras record and store photographic images in digital format. Capturing pictures is usually accomplished by use of a photo sensor, using a charged couple device (CCD.) After transferring the pictures to your computer, you can edit and save them in a compact disc or hard drive.
With digital cameras you can instantly seize the picture you would love to keep forever. Delete unwanted pictures easily. No hassle of buying films. You don't have to print every picture; you have complete control of the final print after editing on computer. No worries of negatives getting spoiled or lost. You can store many images without having to change or buy films.
There are many brands of digital cameras available in the market today. These include: Sony, Canon, Olympus, Nikon, Kodak, Minolta and Fuji. These are a few famous brands worldwide. Even basic digital camera models have plenty of features, levels and menus. This makes it difficult for beginners to select the right camera meeting their needs. Digital cameras are available in all price ranges depending on the amount of features they have. Before you start comparing the features you should decide for what purpose you would like to use your digital camera. The best way to start your search is to log on to the net and visit all the sites that offer feature and price comparisons for different types and brands of digital cameras.
Almost all digital cameras today have live-preview functionality, where a screen is provided in the camera to see the preview of the image that you just clicked. The most commonly compared feature in digital cameras is the mega pixel. This means the amount of pixels in millions. Therefore, a four mega pixel camera would have four million pixels. The other important features to compare include optical and digital zoom capacity; connectivity with other devices such as computer, printer, etc.; the internal storage space as well as compatibility with external storage devices; memory cards; batteries; and image file formats.
Many digital cameras offer connectivity through USB port, FireWire port, USB PTP mode, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc. These days, many cameras are offering PictBridge mode that allows direct printing from the digital camera without the mediation of a computer. Though all cameras have some amount of internal memory, external memory cards are required to save more pictures. These include Micro Drives or Compact Flash memory cards that are generally used for high-end professional cameras. Memory Stick by Sony is a proprietary flash memory card. SD/MMC, Mini SD and Micro SD cards are the ones used mostly for commercial digital cameras.
If you are an amateur photographer, then you should select a camera with automatic settings and features. This will help you in getting the right pictures based on the amount of light and scenes without too much effort. Two Different Varieties of Wine - Red and White
Two Different Varieties of Wine - Red and White
by Jonathan JamLeo
Wine is regarded one of the greatest pleasures in the world. It is one of the most commonly served beverages in the world and has tremendous cultural significance in many countries. People develop entire experiences based on wine, changing the elements of an ordinary day into something special with a simple glass of their favorite brand.
The word wine refers to the processing, fermentation, and production of the grape. Grapes are naturally balanced to ferment on their own without the aid of any enzymes, extra sugars, or chemicals. This brings about the flavor and taste of wine one that is very uninhibited and natural. Other fruits are sometimes added to wine for their fermentation qualities, including black currants and apples. When fruits of this type are used to make wine, it is called an "elderberry" or "apple" wine.
White wine and red wine are the two primary categories of wine. They are then sub-divided into many other subcategories. The types that fall under each umbrella, are typically determined by the type of grape or the region in which the grape was grown.
A common type of white wine is the Riesling. It comes from a white grape variety of the same name and is grown historically in Germany. Riesling is very versatile and is considered appropriate to serve with almost any type of food. It is, however, most popular with white fish or white fishpork. Riesling is also known as one of the few wines that can stand up to the bold flavors of Asian cuisine such as Chinese or Thai food.
Red Wine is divided into categories like Merlot, which comes from anywhere from Argentina to the United States. Merlot is a red wine that usually has a medium body and contains hints of berry or plum. It is also considered one of the most flexible types of wine and is often served with meals involving red meats or darker foods. There is a white merlot that is also in circulation, which is made with a hint of raspberry.
There are many different approachs that people choose to use wine. Whether as an apertif before a meal, as a table wine during a meal, as a cooking wine during meal preparation, or as a dessert wine, it is one of the most all-purpose beverages in the world. People enjoy wine in many settings around the world because of the immense variety available. Wine is certainly earning its reputation as the drink of choice for many people.

Should you Drink Caffeine Free Green Tea
Should you Drink Caffeine Free Green Tea
by Tom G. Antion
A tea isnt completely devoid of the extra kick if it states that it is caffeine free. Not all of the caffeine can be taken out by the decaffeinating process only most of it. As with any other type of tea, green tea naturally contains caffeine. It is a relatively easy process to remove the caffeine from your tea, but there is a little more to it than you might think.
Caffeinated or Decaffeinated?
Start off with some background. The well-known black tea, oolong tea, green tea and white tea are just a few of several types of tea. The most caffeine is found in black tea, while green tea is in the middle and white tea has the least. Coffee contains more caffeine than tea. One half or a third of the caffeine in coffee is found in a cup of tea.
It is rather surprising when you consider some general facts about tea plants. Caffeine will be stronger the smaller the tea leaf. A higher caffeine content is also in the tea leaves that are fermented longer. However, according to some sources the health benefits of green tea is ruined by the decaffeination process. So while you may be able to find comfort in a warm cup of green tea that is caffeine free it is a no-win situation.
You will want caffeine free if you have a problem with caffeine. Caffeine green tea is not completely devoid of caffeine, so you should keep this in mind if you have a severe reaction to any amount of caffeine. Which means you should probably stay away from teas altogether.
If you can even drink caffeine free green tea then herbal infusions may be an option. These do not contain any tea whatsoever despite the being mislabeled as teas. Herbs or flowers are often contained in these products and can be brewed in tea bags or balls just like teas. Chamomile is an example of the alternate ingredients included in herbal infusion which is a type of flower.
Caffeine green tea is a great choice if you are trying to limit your caffeine intake. The health benefit of green tea generally outweigh the negatives of a little bit of caffeine when you look at the big picture.

12 Ways Leaders Tell Their People They Are Important
12 Ways Leaders Tell Their People They Are Important
by Andrew Cox
Leaders know the old saying "How you act shouts so loudly I can't hear what you're saying" is the truth. They use it to their advantage. Leaders know the greatest sense of accomplishment and importance often comes from non monetary rewards, and from positive recognition from the person who is the boss. And they know they can do it without "breaking the rules" or incurring big expenses.
Many managers feel constrained by the rules and regulations of their organizations. They feel that their hands are tied when it comes to rewarding their people that their actions are controlled by others, and there is little of any real value they can do to motivate their people.
Here are 12 Ways leaders let their people know how important they are:
Way #1 Leaders truly believe the work performed by their people is important. This may sound pretty basic, but that is an absolutely essential belief. Without it there is simply no way people can be convinced that what they do is important.. How often have your heard or been guilty of saying or thinking "Oh, she's just the receptionist" or, "He's just the janitor" or "They're just trainees" or "They're just a staff weenie?"
Way #2 Leaders expect the best from everyone, and settle for nothing less. Nothing makes people feel more important than high expectations for their performance. Leaders make sure their people share in setting the expectations.
Way #3 Leaders create goals that are shared and that show the tie in of individual work with the success of the organization.
Way #4 Leaders select the best in every opening they have. Every tool is used to ensure that the best possible decision is made on who is selected. People watch very carefully to see who is picked they need to be involved in the selection process whenever possible. Leaders know that actions taken in selection communicate how important the open position is. Who is selected is seen as a direct reflection on the quality of the people in the organization.
Way #5 Leaders are their people's institutional champion! What's that mean? When their pay is wrong, leaders get it right. When their reviews are scheduled, leaders ensure they are done accurately and on time. When their raises are due, leaders make sure they are handled properly and on time. Leaders jealously guard their relationship as the go to person for their people. Institutional support people can help, but leaders know they are the key contact for their people.
Way #6 Leaders are absolutely intolerant of unsafe, disruptive or other negative behaviors. They act on them quickly and decisively, and never let their people see them knowingly ignore a bad situation. Leaders know these situations will not go away, regardless how much "wish'in and hop'in and pray'in" might be done.
Way #7 Leaders know that trust and respect are not the same thing as being liked. It is nice to be liked, it is absolutely essential that people trust and respect their leader. As a comedian said: "If you want to be liked, get a dog."
Way #8 Leaders cultivate a climate of civility for their people. In their relationships with their people, they make sure their actions reflect a fundamental respect for others.
Way #9 Leaders get every one of their people some form of self development activity on a regular basis. It may be a seminar, it may be tuition refund, it may be a book, it may be a CD set, it may be reimbursement for a Webinar or a podcast, it may be a Community College course it does not have to be expensive and time consuming, but the act of creating added value through the investment of personal effort supported by organizational resources is a powerful way to express importance.
Way #10 Leaders respect their people's time it's their most valuable asset. Leaders start meetings on time, end them on time, keep meeting commitments. They do what they have to do to ensure their people have the use of as much of their work time as possible.
Way #11 Leaders keep the rules and policies to an absolute minimum. If there is workable set of cultural and organizational "Way's Of Doing Things" then the basis for treating people with individual regard exists. If they don't exist, leaders set them in their own area of responsibility.
Way #12 Leaders celebrate the successes they create the opportunity for group recognition to happen all over the place if Safety is an issue, they create a Safety Award process that celebrates progress. They make the celebration events frequent, the rewards modest but they do it all the time. Leaders know the frequency of awards and the opportunity for celebration are as important, actually more important, than the annual lunch or dinner or whatever.
Did you notice one thing about all 12 Ways? Not one of them deals with lots of money, or more capital, or new policies or procedures. All do require beliefs and behaviors and they are the most challenging, most high leverage efforts that can be made to improve an organization. It's always tempting to do a feel good seminar, or buy something, or take some action that shows a high level of commitment to the people.. But the truth is that the way to greater success is through a focused, day to day effort to improve the level of commitment of the people in an organization, and that takes hard work, leadership and the acceptance of change.
If you can see Ways that can help you organization or your work group or yourself in this article, take them and run with them they are the basis for successful managers becoming successful leaders.
